Dear ISCA Members,

Welcome to the August edition of ISCApad!  First of all, let me wish many of you a wonderful summer!

In the past months, ISCA members have contributed to the preparation of INTERSPEECH 2017, as authors, reviewers, organizers, volunteers and cheerleaders. Your contributions have made a difference to the conference!

As INTERSPEECH is only few days away, I trust that you are gearing up for the event. We would like to give you a heads up.

INTERSPEECH 2017 is special.  We will embrace a theme of 'Situated Interaction', that is not only because speech is a situated interaction, but also speech science and technology are well situated to interact with academia and industry in the conference. All 9 tutorials will be on Sunday (20 August). The Main Conference runs from Monday (21 August) to Thursday (24 August). Please be reminded that ISCA General Assembly is on Monday (21 August) and Conference Banquet is on Wednesday (23 August). The Board will announce ISCA Medalist 2017 and ISCA Fellow Class 2017 during the Opening Ceremony.

INTERSPEECH 2017 will be held at Stockholm University campus, which is situated on the northern part of The Royal National City Park, served by Stockholm?s metropolitan?s good public transportation network. More information on travel and local transportation can be found at the conference website.

You can only experience the excitement of INTERSPEECH by joining the event. Plan your trip early!

ISCA Board looks forward to welcoming you in Stockholm!

 Haizhou Li, President
