2-2 A message from Sebastian Moeller, chairman of Interspeech 2015

 Dear participant,

Interspeech 2015 is approaching, and we would like to update you with the latest information regarding your travel and preparation of the conference.

***** TRAVEL DETAILS *****
Details for your travel to Dresden can be found on the conference web site at
Please remember that visa requirements may vary between countries; if you did not yet have a look and are not sure, please consult the web site of the Federal Foreign Office (linked on the page above), or a German embassy or consulate in your country.
You will also find information on how to travel to Dresden from major German airports under the link given above.
Note that some of the listed hotels have already closed the Interspeech offers, so rooms may run short in some locations; consider booking soon if you have not already done so.
Dresden has recently introduced a lodging tax. In case you would like to be exempted from this tax, please check the information under http://interspeech2015.org/conference/hotels/lodging-tax/.

***** CONFERENCE PROGRAM and APP *****
The detailed conference program is available on the web site. Very soon, we will also make it available as a mobile app for Apple or Android which can then be freely downloaded through Apple’s AppStore or Google’s Playstore. Please monitor the following web site to check the availability: http://interspeech2015.org/app/.
There are a number of special and social events during the conference, such as the ISCA SAC Doctoral Workshop on Sunday, the Welcome Reception and the Special Event on “Speaker Comparison for Forensic and Investigative Applications” on Monday, the Special Event on “Privacy Issues in Speech Data Collection and Usage”, the ISCA General Assembly, the Reviewers Event as well as the Student Event on Tuesday, the “Standardization Brown Bag” and the Stand-up Banquet on Wednesday, as well as our Closing Ceremony with all the awards on Thursday.
Places are still left for some of the tutorials taking place on Sunday, September 6, see http://interspeech2015.org/program/tutorials/. Also remember to coordinate with any satellite workshops you might want to attend, see the list under http://interspeech2015.org/program/workshops/. After the conference, there will be a post-tour on offer, see http://interspeech2015.org/program/post-venue-tours/.

***** TALK and POSTER PREPARATION *****
When preparing your presentation, please remember that oral presenters will have only 15 minutes to present, followed by 4 minutes of question and answer, and 1 minute for speaker change. Only Special Sessions can deviate from this timing, according to announcements from the Special Session chairs. The timing will be strict, and session chairs will be requested to stop speakers exceeding the 15 minutes presentation slot. In any case, you cannot connect your own laptop in the presentation room. Instead, you are required to upload your presentation well before the scheduled time in the Speaker Ready room, and check whether it runs correctly on the computers provided.
For a poster presentation, please note that poster boards are in portrait format, i.e. 100 cm wide x 200 cm high (39 inches x 79 inches). Posters should be mounted during the coffee break preceding the poster slot, and should be dismounted directly after the session.

***** TOURISTIC INFORMATION *****
Dresden has a lot of touristic highlights on offer, and also its surroundings provide lots of attractions. Some useful links, as well as a map of local restaurants, bars, etc. can be found under the following link: http://interspeech2015.org/conference/explore-dresden/

***** UPDATED INFORMATION *****
All information will regularly be updated on our web site http://interspeech2015.org/. You can also follow us on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

The entire Interspeech team is very happy to welcome you in Dresden.
On behalf of the team,

Sebastian Möller
Interspeech 2015 General Chair
