Dear ISCA members,
Technical Program Committee Meeting in Paris On 23 and 24 May the technical program committee meeting (TPC meeting) was held in Paris, France. The Interspeech 2024 TPC and lead area chairs (ACs) from the various areas met for two days to discuss paper decisions and sessions amongst others. The decisions for acceptance or rejection will likely have already been send out when you are reading this President’s message.
I sincerely want to thank
I am sure Interspeech 2024 will again be an amazing conference!
Information about accommodations at Interspeech 2024, Kos The organising committee of Interspeech 2024 has been able to arrange for special rates for conference participants. A variety of hotels differing in price are available for Interspeech 2024. Participants can book their accommodation while registering to the conference. All these hotels are located within the Island of Kos in close proximity to the conference venue.
The following hotels have been secured for the conference: https://interspeech2024.org/accommodation-hotels/
Please note that public transportation is not so frequent and hotels in the city center are a lengthy walk away from the conference center. Traffic can also be a problem with the tourist crowd in September. However, Kos has many safe cycle paths, and bicycles can be rented at many locations. So, if you want to book your accommodation further away from the conference center, cycling is a great option!
It is recommended that accommodation is booked early for the meeting in order to secure your required housing arrangements. It is possible to share a room.
More information will be announced through the Interspeech 2024 website https://interspeech2024.org/.
Student activities at Speech Prosody and Interspeech ISCA-SAC will again be organising several great events for graduate (PhD) students at Interspeech and, for the first time, at Speech Prosody, Leiden, the Netherlands. These include the Doctoral Consortium, Mentoring, and Students meet Experts. Please check out their website http://www.isca-students.org/sacweb/ and sign up!
In conjunction with Interspeech 2024, the Young Female Researcher in Speech Science and Technology Workshop (YFRSW) will be organised for the 8th time! YFRSW is targeted at undergraduate (BA/BSc, MA/MSc) students. More information can be found at https://sites.google.com/view/yfrsw-2024.
See you all in Kos Island, Greece.
Odette Scharenborg ISCA President
