Interspeech 2024

Let me start with an important announcement regarding Interspeech 2024 from the organisers:

'Due to the current security situation in Israel and after consulting the ISCA board, the Interspeech 2024 organizing committee decided to move the conference venue to another country in the eastern Mediterranean: Greece. Details will follow. We all hope that we will have the privilege of hosting the Interspeech Conference in Jerusalem in the future.'

On behalf of the speech science and technology community, the ISCA board would like to thank the organisers of Interspeech 2024 for their continued drive and commitment to organise a safe and successful Interspeech 2024. ISCA stands by to support the organizers in making IS2024 a success.

The dates for Interspeech 2024 are those that have been communicated earlier: 1-5 September 2024. The calls for papers, workshops, satellite events, show & tells, and tutorials are to be found elsewhere in this ISCAPad and on the Interspeech 2024 website: https://interspeech2024.org.

I hope to see many of our community in Greece next year!

Call for Interspeech 2027 bids – deadline extended

As announced in the previous ISCAPad, the deadline for bids for Interspeech 2027 is open. The conference chairs are in contact with several teams who are working on a bid. To accommodate these teams, we have decided to extend the deadline for the bid submission to 1 January, 2024. It's that time of the year…. Nomination season!

The ISCA board invites nominations for two of its honours:

• The ISCA Medal for Scientific Achievement: This medal recognizes and honours a scientist who has made extraordinary contributions to the field of speech communication science and technology. Deadline for nomination: 5 January 2024.

• The ISCA Fellows Program: This program recognises and honours outstanding members who have made significant contributions to the science and technology of speech communication. Nominees must have been an ISCA member for 5+years & have a minimum of 10 years experience in the field. Nominations should be supported by 3 references from senior scientists/technologists in the Speech Communication community. Please note that current ISCA Board members are not eligible for nomination. Deadline: 10 February 2024.
