Meeting description:

The 53rd Linguistic Symposium on Romance Languages (LSRL 53) will take place in Paris,
France, from June 26 to June 30, 2023.
The symposium is organized jointly by INALCO, Université Paris Cité, Université Sorbonne
Nouvelle, and Université Paris Saclay.

We invite papers from all areas of Romance linguistics, and we would like to encourage
papers on Romance sign languages, Romance minority languages, and any minority languages
in contact with Romance.

In addition to the main conference (June 27 – 29), LSRL 53 will feature two special
sessions:

-June 26 - “Romance languages in a rapidly changing world” – dedicated to Romance
linguistics studies in connection to written and oral language technologies.

-June 30 - “Phonetics and phonology – Beyond Romance” – studies at the
phonetics/phonology interface in any language, inspired by approaches to Romance.

We are happy to welcome the following plenary speakers:

-        Xavier Bach (Oxford University, UK)
-        Elena Castroviejo (University of the Basque Country, Spain)
-        Abby Cohn (Cornell University, USA)
-        Virginia Hill (University of New Brunswick, Canada)

3-2-2(2023-08-28) DiSS Workshop 2023 (Disfluency in Spontaneous Speech), Bielefeld, GE

We are happy to announce that the DiSS Workshop 2023 (Disfluency in Spontaneous Speech)
will take place in Bielefeld (Germany) August 28-30. It will include also a special day
on laughter and other non-verbal vocalizations, to connect disfluency research to
research on related phenomena. Submissions are encouraged from all fields that deal with
these phenomena, including: psychology, neuropsychology and neurocognition,
psycholinguistics, linguistics, conversation analysis, computational linguistics, speech
technology, gesture analysis, dialogue systems, speech production and perception.

Paper submission will be handled via the CMT platform. Three student grants for attending
the conference will be made available through ISCA. Please check the workshop website:
