Dear friends of ISCA,

The passing of our dear colleague, distinguished scientist, core community member, former ISCA president,

and friend, Prof. Sadaoki Furui, has left a deep gap and shocked our community. In this ISCApad, you will 

find an obituary, some personal notes, as well as the announcement of a workshop organized in his honor.

µThe workshop will include presentations from a number of invited panelists who will address topics in which

Sadaoki Furui’s work was particularly impactful. Short contributions from persons with a specific scientific

connection to him are also foreseen. In case that you would like to contribute to the workshop with a very

short presentation, please contact Isabel Trancoso (Isabel.Trancoso@inesc-id.pt) before October 1st, 2022.

I hope to be able to see many of you at the upcoming Interspeech conference in Incheon, Korea, in person

or virtually.
