Tutorials at Interspeech 2018 
 
We are happy to announce that the tutorials have been finalized. The Tutorials Committee 
has worked hard to put together an exciting set of tutorials on cutting-edge topics. 
The tutorials will be held at HICC on September 2, 2018 (both forenoon and afternoon sessions).

Interspeech 2018: Show & Tell demonstrations

Submission deadline: April 13, 2018

Acceptance notifications sent: June 1, 2018

Camera-ready paper due: June 17, 2018

Interspeech is the world’s largest and most comprehensive conference on the science and technology of spoken language processing. Show & Tell is a special event organized during the conference. Participants are given the opportunity to demonstrate their most recent progress or developments, and interact with the conference attendees in an informal way, such as a demo, mock-up, or any adapted format of their own choice. These contributions must highlight the innovative side of the concept and may relate to a regular paper.


Each accepted proposal paper will be allocated two pages in the conference proceedings. Show & Tell demonstrations will be presented in a dedicated time slot; each presentation space will include one poster board, one table, as well as wireless internet connection and a power outlet. Demonstrations should be based on innovations and fundamental research in areas of speech production, perception, communication, or speech and language technology and systems. Authors are encouraged to submit proposals related to the theme of the main conference: Speech Research for Emerging Markets in Multilingual Societies. Submissions will be peer-reviewed. Reviewers will judge the originality, significance, quality, and clarity of the proposed demonstration. At least one author of each accepted submission must register for and attend the conference, and demonstrate the system during the Show & Tell sessions.

Show& Tell papers should be up to 2 pages (including references). The formatshould conform to that defined in the paper preparation guidelines and asdetailed in the INTERSPEECH 2018 Author’s Kit

3-1-3(2018-09-03) Interspeech 2018: Open Doors
Interspeech 2018: Open Doors

Date: September 3, 2018; 2 pm - 4 pm
Location: Genesys and Microsoft India Development Center

International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) - Student Advisory Committee (SAC) is back with the Open Doors event. This year we are hosted by Genesys and Microsoft India Development Center. The Open Doors event is focused to bring industrial research and academia together.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit one of the companies and engage with their speech application team. The industry professionals will demonstrate their products and related technology, followed by an open discussion, and networking opportunities. The event aims to bring students and researchers together discussing state-of-the-art technologies, potential collaboration, and even possible hiring opportunities.

ISCA-SAC will provide transportation from the conference center. Group sizes will be limited.

Interspeech 2018: Students meet Experts

The Student Advisory Committee of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA-SAC) is happy to announce this year’s edition of the Students meet Experts event. After successful editions in Lyon (2013), Singapore (2014), San Francisco (2016), and Stockholm (2017), the Students meet Experts event is now coming to Interspeech 2018 in Hyderabad. We will have a panel discussion with experts from academia and industry, followed by an informal opportunity to mingle and ask more in depth questions at the SME coffee break. All students are welcome to register!

The list of experts will be announced in August, 2018.

3-1-8Interspeech-2018: Important Points for Special contracted accommodation rates

Dear Interspeech-2018 Delegates

    Here are a few points regarding the booking of accommodation  for Interspeech-2018, at Special contracted accommodation rates. The list of hotels and their applicable rates have already been circulated and is present on the Interspeech-2018 website at the following link.

1. The special contracted rates are applicable for booking to the Interspeech-2018 delegates irrespective of their day of arrival and return. The delegates can therefore plan their travel with flexibly.

2. We advise you to kindly make the bookings as soon as possible as there are limited number of rooms available at the special contracted rates for each hotel. Bookings made after these reserved rooms are occupied would be charged at their regular rates.

3. To get the special contracted rates please do not directly book through the website of the hotel.  Instead, send an email  to the email-id (mentioned in the Hotel Contact Information) of the  hotel of your choice. The subject of the email should be 'Interspeech-2018 Delegate',  and  the body of the email must provide the following information:
        (a) First Name, Middle Name, Last Name
        (b) Arrival date and time
        (c) Departure date and time
        (d) Interspeech-2018 Registration Number
        (e) Name of the Hotel


All the accommodation charges include: (a) The applicable Government taxes.  (b) Complimentary food/services within the hotel: Breakfast and Wi-Fi.
   
4. Complimentary shuttle-bus service between the rate contracted hotels and the conference venue will be offered by Interspeech-2018 organizers during 3rd  September to 6th September 2018. All participants staying in these hotels can avail the Complimentary shuttle-bus service irrespective of the mode of booking.

5. Delegates who chose to stay at other nearby hotels can also avail the Complimentary shuttle-bus service from the boarding points at one of the mentioned hotels.
