3-3-31 (2017-03-01) Call for Late-breaking Demos at HSCMA San Francisco CA USA

Call for Late-breaking Demos

The Fifth Joint Workshop on Hands-free Speech Communication and Microphone Arrays will

be held on March 1-3, 2017 at the Google Offices in downtown San Francisco, California.

The workshop is devoted to presenting recent advances in distant-talking speech communication

and human/machine interaction with an emphasis on multi-microphone systems. It will bring

together researchers and practitioners from universities and industry working in distant speech

and speaker recognition, speech enhancement, high-quality sound capture, and multiple-input/

multiple-output (MIMO) acoustic signal processing. Demonstrations of experimental systems,

applications, and prototypes are especially welcome.

HSCMA 2017 is being held with technical sponsorship by the IEEE Signal Processing Society

and will immediately precede ICASSP 2017.

Demonstration Sessions

Complementary to HSCMA’s special session on Robot Audition, the technical program will

include demonstration sessions. The goal of a demo session is to encourage researchers from

academia and industry to present working prototypes of their research to the HSCMA audience.

This is also a forum to demonstrate new products or proof-of-concept ideas in human-machine or

human-human communication.

A list of HSCMA topics can be found at http://hscma2017.org/. In addition to the main topics,

interdisciplinary work that crosses multiple technical areas is also encouraged.

All demonstration paper submissions must use the HSCMA paper template (2-page limit)

[http://hscma2017.org/Papers/PaperKit.html] and should include a technical description of

the demo system. To be considered for the demo sessions, a demonstration of an experimental

system or a working prototype is required. Each accepted paper will be allotted one slot with

space for a poster board and a table with a power outlet for the demonstration system. The

accepted papers will be included in the HSCMA proceedings. A demo of a research paper

already accepted in the main program is also welcome, but a separate paper describing the

demonstration system will need to be submitted.

Deadline for 2-page demo paper: Feb 8, 2017.

Acceptance notice: Feb 17, 2017.
