2-1Message from our President Haizhou Li

Dear Members,

First of all, I would like to congratulate the organizing committee of  INTERSPEECH 2016 for a successful conference in San Francisco. This is the 17th Annual Conference of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA).  INTERSPEECH 2016 received widespread acclaim for its organization, technical programs and social programs. It also recorded the highest number of paper submissions, and the highest number of participants. Bravo! On behalf of ISCA, my warm big thanks go to the whole organization team, led by General Chair Nelson Morgan, and all volunteers who are committed to help with the various aspects of organizing the conference and technical program. At INTERSPEECH 2016, ISCA conferred the ISCA Medal for Scientific Achievement 2016 to John Makhoul for his leadership and extensive contributions to speech and language processing.

It is my pleasure to announce the Board change as well. In 2016, ISCA Board welcomes a new member Sebastian Moeller, who assumes the role as a conference coordinator.  On behalf of the membership, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nick Campbell who left ISCA Board for his dedicated service to ISCA.

Haizhou Li
