Dear ISCApad readers,

2015 is on its end. It brought the best and the worst events. For ISCA it was a wonderful year with a remarkable Interspeech in Dresden but  our speech community  was sadly struck when it lost one of its prominent researcher and manager Jim Flanagan. Elsevier has suggested to dedicate Jim a special issue: how can we honour a great researcher better than with a special isssue?

I wish you all an excellent year 2016. Write excellent papers that will be accepted at international conferences and be lucky in all your organizations. Be happy in your private life. My warmest wishes go to the courageous organizers of Interspeech 2016 in San Francisco.
