ISCApad #185 |

Dear members, Here are some details concerning ISCApad.
ISCApad is open to anybody who has pertinent information on speech science and technology. It is updated every 10th of each month. All pertinent adverts received before the 7th of each month will be included. All members are informed by email of the availability of the updated issue on our website (provided the address given in their membership form is correct and that their webmaster has not stopped emails coming from the mailing list isca-members@eurecom.fr) Adverts are better processed when written in Word: use this text processor for having your advert nicely and timely posted. Including pictures is hazardeous: sometimes I can include them easily, sometimes it is impossible even if I receive separate picture files. ISCA news occupy a special section: they report on the life of the association. Separate sections are devoted to ISCA events and ISCA supported events: you will not find them in the section Other events. Workshops and conferences are announced up to the date of their venue. ISCApad replicates the newsletters of database providers: they just have to send the editor their newsletter and to regularly update. If you are the author of an efficient software that has reached a reasonable level of robustness and universality and you want to make it freely available for the speech community, you may announce it in ISCApad: you may expect some feedback from your colleagues. Job adverts remain posted for 6 months; if the position is filled before this deadline, the potential employer has better to inform editor in order to avoid receiving irrelevant applications.
New books are announced on author's demand: it is not our policy to publish reviewings of books. They remain on ISCApad at least for 6 months. Special issues on speech of different journals are announded and remain posted as late as the issuing date i.e. later than the manuscript submission or the final manuscript deadline. A permanent recommendation: if you are organizer of workshop or conference, or if you post a job announcement, please check the advert in ISCApad carefully and inform me as soon as possible of errors (mainly on dates) if any: correct information is a service but wrong information may be a catastrophy: once I travelled to attend an open seminar that had been cancelled without information; I lost time and money!
