| | Ilse Lehiste, 2002 recipient of the ISCA Medal for Scientific
Achievement, went into hospital earlier this month and passed away on
Christmas Day. Her colleagues in the Ohio State University Department
of Linguistics, which she founded in the mid 1960s and which was her
academic home for most of her career, has set up a 'Remembering Ilse
